Friday 5 - Spring Break to-do

I'm going into Spring Break super exited this year for a ton of reasons! I can't believe that I'll be home tonight! My Dad is coming to get me this afternoon, and I'm really excited to spend some quality time with my parents this week!

I'm really excited for a few reasons this year, but one of them is that I was elected Secretary of Pre-Law society for next year last night! I thought about running, and then at last night's meeting someone nominated me and I ran unopposed, but I'm really excited to take on the responsibility next year! I'm also super excited for spring break because it signifies not only the halfway point through the semester, but also the start of break season! After Spring Break is over, I only have a couple of weeks before Easter Break, and then a couple of weeks after that is finals!

Anyway, here I 5 things I hope to do over Spring Break:

1.
Read
I picked up a couple of books at the Bellarmine Library this week and hope to read them while I'm home!

2.
Ski
My Dad my Brother and I (and maybe my Mom?!) are going skiing again (I went with BU last weekend!) and I'm really excited about it. We're going on Friday so hopefully the mountain isn't too crowded!

3.
Cook & Bake
I've been perusing Pinterest a ton the past few days, as well as the Tasty! Facebook page, and I have a ton of recipes that I want to try out while I'm home. Make sure you're following me on Pinterest so you can see what I'll be (attempting) to cook up!

4.
Clean and Buy Fresh flowers
If my memory serves me correctly, I left my room an absolute mess when I left for second semester. I really want to tidy up and clean out my room at home. I also really want to pick up some fresh flowers for my room and the kitchen. I love how they just freshen up a space.

5.
Spending time with people from Home
When I was home for Winter Break, I was pretty guilty for not seeing everyone I wanted to see. When I'm home this week, I want to make sure that I catch up with them!

The One where Jordan Forgets to blog for a week

I'm linking up today (a day late) with Caitlin at Confessions of a Northern Belle!

I Confess:

I completely forgot to blog the last week. Okay, maybe not completely, but I've just been super out of it the past week and couldn't think of anything good to post.

I wish it weren't snowing in Chicago right now. I'm going home tomorrow for Spring Break, and as excited as I am to be home, it's freezing and snowy in Chicago right now... ick!

I want to go on a major shopping spree at Sephora:

I laugh every time I see an episode of The Office. There is just something about that show that cracks me up every episode!

I had Chipotle this week for the first time in months this week, and I missed it so much. I can't wait until I'm home and I can go again!

What I'm Loving: Spring Accessories

If you've followed my blog for a while, or know me in real life, you know I'm not much of a bright colors person. In fact, as I'm typing this, I'm wearing my favorite pair of striped black and white pajamas, but there is just something about the idea of spring break and warm weather being here soon that makes me want to break out ALL the neons. One of my favorite ways to do this is through accessories, since it doesn't require revamping your entire wardrobe to incorporate the newest and brightest trends.

I love the neon orange trend in purses this season, it's so fun!
An of course Bauble Bar is hitting the nail on the head with floral and turquoise drop earrings!

Which trend is your favorite so far?

What I Wore: Pref Dinner

Saturday night I attended a University of Louisville fraternity preference dinner, and to be honest I'm still not quite sure what the point of the dinner was, but it was fun to get dressed up!

So honestly I ordered this dress off of Amazon last Wednesday because I wasn't feeling any of the dresses I had here, and also because it was going to be 20 degrees, so I need something with at least some sort of sleeves. I love this dress because it was under $40, and the back is completely lace! It's gorgeous! The fabric is nice and stretchy and has a seam at the natural waist so it's very flattering. I wore a size 4, so I'd say it fit true to size.

Currently I Am:

{This is taking the place of this week's Friday 5 as the only thing I posted this week was a last minute Valentine's Day Gift guide}

Watching:  Confession: I'm addicted to Grey's Anatomy. I'm still on Season 9, so no spoilers, but at the rate I've been watching, I think I'll be done by the end of February! The Bachelor also looks like it's going to get really good next week. I'm not sure who I'm rooting for (Am I the only one who still doesn't know anyone's names?!) but I'm excited for Monday's episode and Sunday's special.
Photo Creds to Jessica for this shot
Eating: Well, I guess this should be not eating  because I gave up dairy for Lent. As I've mentioned before, I'm a big fan of bagels and cream cheese for an afternoon snack here at school, but with Lent I have no such luxury. (I'll definitely be saving a lot of "flex dollars" in the next few months!) It isn't too hard on most days, but on days were you don't eat meat, it's been tricky!

Reading: I finished "Luckiest Girl Alive" a couple of weeks ago, and have slowly been  chipping away at the last 100 pages of "The Martian" which I started back in the summer.

Wearing: These leggings constantly! It got super cold in Louisville again this week, which is a big contrast from last weeks 70, so leggings and oversized t-shirts have been the uniform this week. I can't wait for Chaco and Norts weather! (E-mail me for a special offer on the leggings!)

Loving: My parents sent me a care package yesterday which I was totally not expecting! They sent me an adorable pillow for my bed (that matches my decor!), some candy, and most importantly... A whole box full of my favorite peanut butter kiss cookies!

Excited For: Although this month had a fairly slow start, I have a lot going on these next few weekends! Tomorrow I'm going to an Alpha Phi Omega leadership training in the afternoon, and a Fraternity Pref Dinner Saturday night. Next weekend I'm heading on a day-long ski trip, and I'm super excited for everything! I'll be sure to share lots of pictures of everything! Make sure you're following me on Instagram @JojoArrigo to keep up!

Counting Down: The days until Spring Break! In just 14 days, I'll be back on the North Shore! I'm super excited to finally be heading home after a long (and cold!) couple of months.

I want to know what you're up to for the Valentine's Weekend!

Last Minute Valentine's Day Gifts

I can't believe Valentine's day is this weekend! I really hated the holiday in high school, but admittedly, it was kind of funny to see girls walking around with big teddy bears and dozens of flowers all day. Now that I'm out of high school, I cherish holidays even more! They help to break up the long months at school and give me something to look forward to! I don't have any exciting plans on Sunday, but my Saturday should be a lot of fun! (as long as I don't freeze to death).

Today I'm sharing some last minute gift ideas for those of us who simply cannot believe it's already the 9th of February!

Sephora Gift Card and Makeover: At most Sephoras, you can get a "makeover" with any $50 purchase, so a giftcard would be a super fun way to give not only a nice gift that they can pick out, but also an experience!

Jack Roger Sandals: I know personally, you really can't go wrong with Jack Rogers sandals. If your girl has even one pair, I can guarantee she'd love another!

Tory Burch Wallet: I think that a wallet is always a super classic gift to give, man or woman. This whipstiched Tory Burch one is a personal fave!

Rose Colored Glasses: A fun play on the holiday, these mirrored Ray-Bans are a twist on a classic style. They're great for spring and summer and perfectly on-trend.

Too Faced Blush: This is a super cute blush perfect for the holiday. If you're looking for a good treat for one of your friends, this is perfect!

Flowers: I love fresh flowers, I think most girls do, although prices surge around this time of year, they're a really sweet gesture. If your really want to splurge, get them delivered to their office! (Girls might not admit it, but they'd love to flaunt a lovely bouquet of flowers this week at the office)

Red Balenciaga Bracelet: This piece is a twist on the classic "jewelry for valentines day" although it's still quite a splurge, it's something different and perfect for summer. (If your loved-one wears a lot of black, this would be a perfect gift!)

Dress and Dinner: Another fun gift idea for a wife or girlfriend is to have one of their friends help you pick out a dress or outfit and surprise them with it before your date!

Friday 5 {New Hair, Alpha Phi Omega, and February Playlist}

1.
So this happened yesterday:

I guess I went blonde! (more like "bronde") I've been wanting to do something  with my hair for a couple of months now,  and I finally bit the bullet! I can do a whole post about it, but I basically cut off 4 inches and got balayage!
(If anyone has purple shampoo recommendations, let me know in the comments!)

2.
I've already started my February playlist and I'm loving it so far!
It's, as usual, quite the "eclectic" mix of songs, but I like it!

I always keep my current playlist linked on my sidebar as well so you can keep up through out the month!

3.
Alpha Phi Omega
I'm very excited to say that I will be apart of the chartering class of Alpha Phi Omega at Bellarmine University! The chapter is just starting up at Bellarmine, and I'm super excited to be pledging this semester! Since Phi Mu didn't work out for me last semester (I never really talked about it, but I got cut the last round of recruitment) I'm very excited to be a part of such an amazing organization. My cousin is a member at his university, so it will be fun to be "brothers" with him.

4.
Best Friend Day
Apparently yesterday was best friend day. My question is who can even keep up with all of these random sibling/friend/food holidays though out the year!? I feel like it's best friend day once a month! That's okay, they deserve love too!
If only I was this tan right now!
Make sure you check out one of my best friend Jessica's blog, Putting the Chic in Chicago! She just recently picked blogging back up and has had some quality posts go up!

5.
I can't believe Valentine's Day is already next weekend!
I'm planning on doing a post next week about last-minute gift ideas, but for now, here are some adorable picks!

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Suede Heeled Sandals

I think it's this bout of warm weather we've had this week, but I'm just dying for a pair of suede sandals. These two pairs are two of my favorites; I love the chunky heels! Especially because this pair is under $150, and this one under $50!

Which outfit is your favorite?

Spring Teaser

Even though it's only February, we had an absolutely gorgeous weekend! The weather Saturday was perfect, and I had a friend help me take some pictures of my outfit to share!

Sunglasses (similar) - Top - Jeans - Shoes

This shirt is seriously the softest most comfortable thing ever! (and under $25, I got mine from the Brandy Melville section at Nordstrom.)
