Busy Busy Busy

Hey everyone!
As you've probably noticed, I've been slightly absent these past few weeks. I've been slightly overwhelmed by my Junior year and have also been strained for blog ideas. The best system for me is writing and scheduling all of my blog posts over the weekend, but that hasn't been the easiest the last few weeks. Hopefully I can get back on track and blog more consistently. If you're looking for updates though, I may or may not be on Pinterest frequently in the mornings during my classes. Who said that?!

In any case; please enjoy this photo of these adorable foxes aka one of my favorite animals!

A Moment

Today I'm super busy preparing for a presentation I have tomorrow, so I thought today it would be nice if everybody reading would take the time they would normally take to read my blog to say a little prayer. (or if you're not religious, take a moment and reflect on your week!) Some of the things I'll be praying about are...

+Our neighbor that is a very good family friend who suffered a heart attack yesterday.
+My presentation that I have tomorrow.
+My brother who just turned 11 and that he has an awesome year!
+My family and that we can work out some issues before this holiday season.

Thanks for reading!

No, not the musical silly! The stuff that grows on your head! I've had quite a few haircuts in my almost 17 years on this planet, luckily, none of them turned out badly, (read my old post about how to prepare for a haircut!) but I'm always looking at new haircuts and styles!

One of my biggest "Hair role models" is Jennifer Aniston. I can't think of a time where she ever had a bad haircut! It's alwasy so cute! Here are some of my favorite hair styles and looks! Many All of these can be found on my "Hurr" pinterest board!

Fashion Rules {According to Jordan}

There are many fashion rules that you often hear, but I feel like everybody has a different concept of each of these rules. I thought I'd share with you my personal fashion rule beliefs!

+No Leggings as Pants.
Leggings may be worn as "pants" (within reason. no crop tops!) in the event of: Inclement weather, dance class, if your shirt covers your but, and if you leggings are not see-thru so people can't see your underwear, or lack thereof.

+No White After Labor Day
You can wear white anytime you want, once again, within reason. I love cream cords in the fall and winter, but not white denim. (once again, if it's still 90 degrees after labor in September, that's fine) white or cream dresses are okay as long as they are not a summer fabric such as linen or eyelet lace.

+No Tights with Open Toed Shoes
I think that colored tights look cool with open toed pumps. I personally wouldn't wear them, but I think they look really good on others!

+No Mixing Black's Brown's and Navy's
I think that sometimes, mixing combinations of these looks really cute such as a brown leather belt with navy or black, however, I think that it should be limited to two colors, not all three in one outfit.

+No Mixing Gold and Silver Jewelry
I think that this is okay in Arm Candy's, but i personally don't like the look of a gold necklace and silver earrings and rings. This is kind of hard, but it's also pretty case by case.

Obviously all of these are my OPINIONS and can be taken case by case. I just thought this would be a fun blog post to do. #HatersBackOff #MirandaforPresident

What are your fashion rules!?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey Guys! Sorry I didn't post Monday, blogging slipped my mind over the weekend and I didn't have time to write a post today.

-My Nivea Lip Butter.  This thing is da If you didn't see the review I posted of it on friday, take a look!

- This slightly "chilly" weather we're having in Chicago. The average this week was probably under 70. Woot Woot! Although it's supposed to heat up Thursday and Friday. I guess that'll be good for our football game though!

-My Lilly Pulitzer Sparkle tote in "A Little Leg" I love this bag so much! I've already used it to go to my cousin's pool, sleeping over at my friends house, and bringing my religious ed. supplies to class.
My bag doesn't have sequins on the strap, just a metallic leather-ish material.
-I've Scheduled my first college visit and I'm getting pretty pumped. It's for the college my mom went to that's only about an hour from my house. I'll be sure to share pics after I go!

-Breaking Pointe. The season finale is this Saturday and I'm beyond pumped. I also snagged tickets to their performance of Sleeping Beauty on October 5th when they come to Chicago and I CAN'T WAIT!

- I've been loving this necklace recently from etsy and plan on ordering it ASAP. I think it would be the perfect everyday monogram necklace and it's really inexpensive too!

Tortoise Shell Acrylic Monogram Necklace Small Size 1.25" x 1.25" With Free Monogram Sticker

-Moroccan Argan Oil. I love putting this on the ends of my hair when it's still damp after taking a shower and it really makes the ends of your hair soft and moisturized! I highly recommend it!!

What have you been loving recently?
Tell me in the comments!

Fall Bucket List 2013

Fall is in the air! Okay, maybe not. It's still a bit toasty in Chicago, but that's not stopping me from preparing for my favorite season! Today I thought I'd share some of the things I want to do this fall! It might give you guys some ideas too!

+Eat caramel apples. I'm getting my braces off this fall and hopefully will be able to indulge in the awesome fall treat! (For the first time in 4 years!)

+Rake leaves. I really like watching people raking leaves, it puts me in the mood for fall and I love all of the gorgeous colors!

+Go to a Pumpkin Patch. There's just something so satisfying about actually picking out your pumpkin from a field rather than from the front of a grocery store. Plus, they always have such cool and delicious foods at pumpkin patches!

+Go Apple Picking. I went apple picking a few years ago, and it was really fun! Plus the apples and applesauce we made were delish!

+Go to a Corn Maze. Living in Illinois, there are a lot of corn maze options. I think they're really fun to go to with your friends, plus I've heard there are HAUNTED corn mazes too. I'm not sure if I could handle that though lol.

+Carve a pumpkin. I love carving pumpkins sand I think it really fun to pick out a cute design to have my dad carve on my pumpkin, because, let's be honest, who would trust me with a huge knife?

+Put more pins on my "Done & Done" pinterest board. I have so many pumpkin and fall recipes pinned, and I can't wait to try some of them out!

What are you looking forward to this fall!?

Currently I am.... + Lip Butter Review!

Currently I am......

Listening To: Lot's of different music, although I'm loving Lady Gaga's "Applause" and Katy Perry's "Roar" right now!

Cooking/Baking: A little more! We've been cooking dinner a lot more instead of ordering out and It's so delish! I can't wait for cooler weather to roll around so we can break out the crock pot etc. I'm also giddy to try making the Starbucks Pumpkin Scones at home because they are To. Die. For.

Loving: How much I've been getting to the gym! I love it there! I've also been loving the Nivea Lip Butter I picked up at Ulta a couple of weeks ago.

I put this lip butter on at night before bed, and when I wake up, my lips feel super soft and smooth. I chose the Caramel Cream Kiss and it totally reminds me of a Caramel Macciatto, totally not why i bought it (okay maybe). If your looking for a good overnight or strong lip treatment, I totally recommend this one. With a price under $3, why not try it!

Wearing: Well, right now I'm wearing running shorts and a t-shirt. I bet you're not even surprised. Recently though, I've been wearing my watches a lot more and it really helps because I can't see the clock in 3 out of my 8 classes!

Looking Forward To: This week being over. It's been a very busy and stressful one, and I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I'm also looking forward to the leaves starting to turn color. It's always so beautiful and I'm ready for a change in scenery!

Healthy Snack! No-Bake Energy Balls!

Resident health Gahoo-Roo here. Totally kidding. I'm no health expert, but I think that this snack is pretty healthy, plus they taste absolutely delicious! I originally saw these on My Keep Calm & Carry On and have been dying to make them for months!

All you need for this snack is
- 1tsp Vanilla Extract
-1 cup Old Fashioned Oats (Uncooked)
-1/2 cup Ground Flax Seed
-1/2 cup Peanut Butter (I used creamy)
- 1/2 cup Mini Chocolate Chips
-1 cup Toasted Coconut (I toasted it myself)
-1/3 cup Honey (not pictured)
For the honey, next time I'm going to make these, I'll use a little less honey so that they're a little less sweet and stay together easier.

These are super easy to make. Just throw all the ingredients in a bowl!

When all the ingredients are combined, put the mixture in the fridge for a half hour, I might do a little longer next time.

After a half hour, roll the mixture into balls and store in a container in the fridge.

These remind me a lot of the Fiber One Oats and Chocolate bars or the Quaker chewy bars.
These are much healthier though because of the Flax seed which is high in fiber and Omega-3's! They definitely taste great though!

What's your favorite healthy snack?

My Skincare Routine

I thought I would update you guys and my skincare routine, considering that it's changed quite a bit since my last post about it.

1- Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover
I obviously use this to remove my eye makeup on days that I feel just a makeup wipe won't take it off. I obviously only use this product at night.

2-Olay Fresh Effect S'wipe Out Makeup Wipes
I recently picked this up from ulta anticipating the upcoming school year and not wanting to go through my whole skincare routine after a long day at school. These are textured, so they take off your makeup nicely. They have a light scent, but I do find them slightly abrasive on my skin.

3- Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Facial Cleanser
I use this in the morning and night and in the shower. I had a face mask from this line that I really liked, but this cleanser doesn't WOW me. I probably won't repurchase.

4- Clinique Clarifying Lotion
I found this in our medicine cabinet and decided to give it a try. I think it's really helping clean out my shin and helping it to clear a bit.

5- Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer
this moisturizer isn't bad, or great. I think it does the job.

What is your skincare routine??

What's on my Bedside Table?

Okay, I know this is kind of random and weird, but I'm gonna do it anyway.

Here's my bedside table, it's from target, it's not overly gorgeous, but it'll do.

I have my lamp that I got for my birthday a loooong time ago, but I think it's still cute.
On my lamp I have my cross keychain from church clipped on the base.
I also have my Nivea Lip Butter (review to come) which I put on before bed and when I wake up.
I keep a Bath and Body Works Triple moisture body cream in Midnight Pomegranate. This is great for putting on your hands and feet before bed to keep them nice and moisturized.
I have my glasses (when I'm in bed or wearing my contacts) They're by Guess and the style number is: GU2227.
I have a small 1-wick Bath and Body Works candle. The one pictured is in Boathouse Row. I also really love the scents Lakeside, Mahogany Teakwood, and Toasted Marshmallow.
I have candle lighter, for lighting my candles. (In case you didn't catch on there)
I have a coaster from my cousin's wedding last summer, and a cup (from Culver's) with water, because I'm always thirsty.

What's on your nightstand??

End of Summer Re-Cap +Camera Woes

Hey Guys!
Today is the day. It's time for my end of summer re-cap. I didn't do tons during the summer, but I did a lot the last few weeks.

3-Day 2013
Breast Cancer has always been a factor in my life. My grandmother survived it twice, and my Mom is coming up in her 5 years of cancer free. This is also the 5th year my Mom and Uncle walked the Chicago Breast Cancer 3-day! My brother also was in the Youth Crew this year and did a great job!
Me- Mom- Dad

Uncle Mike- Mom
I was lucky enough to fit in a Six- Flags trip before school started this year and had a blast!
The View from the Top of the Condor. Looking at Superman

View from the top of the Condor. Looking over the park.

Me, Eleni & Bugs Bunny. Ya know, just the usual. ;)

Day In Downtown Chicago
We spent a day downtown walking around Michigan Avenue and it was really fun! Although it was the day after six-flags, so my feet were not too happy after the city too. :(
Shawn and I in front of Sprinkles Cupcakes. AKA the best cupcakes EVER.

Me in front of Giuliana and Bill (and Duke!) Rancic's new house! We're not stalkers ;)

My Ravioli from dinner at Harry Caray's.

Looking at the Bean in Millenium Park. You can see the moon to the left, and the skyline/ sun in the reflection of the Bean!
Oak Street Beach. Gorgeous!

You can kind of see my family's reflection in the Bean!

Ann Sather's
Ann Sather's has some of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. If you're ever in Chicago, ya gotta go!
The Cousin's!

Our table, well half of it. We had a slightly ridiculous amount of food :/

My Dad on Candid camera haha!
Quick Ulta & Starbucks Run
I went out with my BFF Jessica a few weeks ago and we saw this crazy car while we were at Starbucks!

How was your summer?!
Changing Direction here:

I have a confession.
I've been Blogging for over a year and a half now, and I still take most of my pictures for my blog with my phone.
Granted, my phone takes pretty great pictures. (I have a Motorola Droid Razr M) But It's really not ideal or professional.

I've looked, not very seriously, at many camera's digital, DSLR etc. But i can't really decide what's best for me.
With Christmas in only about 100 days (yes I'm counting, like you're not ;)) I'm trying to find the one I really want.

I've thought about the Nikon - 1 J3 Compact System Camera because it's sort of a cross between a digital and DSLR. I'm not sure if it's the greatest camera though and if it's better then Canon.

Please Please Please comment down below and shed some light on my situation!
