Grab and Go

Hey Y'all
In the summertime, I feel like the majority of the plans we have are fairly spontaneous whether it's being called in to work, or an impromptu trip to the beach! This is where small carry-all wrislets come in handy. Throw in your phone cash, cards, license, chap-stick, and you're ready to roll!

What kind of purse do you carry in the summer.

Embarrassing Story: Terry Peak South Dakota

Whelp, lets just jump right into it. Y'all already know how awkward I am, so this really shouldn't  come as a surprise.

For Spring Break of 2011, my family took a road trip to South Dakota, Land of practically nothing. One thing South Dakota does have is awesome skiing. My family went skiing at Terry Peak and I really enjoyed it!
My brother at the top of the peak.

My gorgeous 8th grade face sitting inside eating because my ankles hurt.

Except for when I face planted off of a ski lift. Yep. I'm THAT girl.

Luckily there weren't many people there because it was already spring time. Anywhoo, my dad, brother and I were on the chairlift and we were about to get off, but my brothers ski's were crossed over mine, so when it came time to hop off, I didn't want to trip him, so I just stayed on the chair. Bad Decision. I then continued to stay on the chair until it turned around and started going the other direction. I then bailed into a huge pile of snow next to the control house thingee. Another Bad decision. My ski's at this point were I don't even know where, so trying to climb out of this rather deep snow bank was quite difficult. My dad at this point is standing there taking pictures, but unfortunately, I can't find them. :(

There you go. yet another embarrassing story featuring me, your favorite blogger.

Friday 5

Hey everybody!

Some of the blogs that I read do these "Friday Five" post and I always enjoy reading them, so I thought I'd start doing them too!

I have rediscovered Peanut Butter & Jelly.
Yes, you heard me right, PB&J.
When I was little, I never really enjoyed it, but recently, I've been craving it all the time!

You know what's really hard,
resisting the urge to buy these bad boys.
They're over 30% off.
Self control Jordan, self control.

The Chrome Book.
My school is "giving" Chromebook's to all of the students in the school
which are being distributed during book sales, and I'm beyond excited to have a new tech toy to play (and blog) with!

You know what's great?
Art deco.
I love art deco designs and such, which coincidentally makes me love the "Jazz Age Glamour"
collection from Tiffany's. It's amazing.

This little car
The Scion Xb.
Adorable, I know. Someday, I will own one, hopefully within this coming school year!
and then onto bigger and better things. *Ahem* Range Rover *ahem*

I hope ya'll enjoyed this post! See you soon!

The Shopoholic Tag!

Hey Guys! I know I've done a lot of posts like this recently, but I just think they're so fun to do and read!
Via Pinterest

1. Would you consider yourself a shopaholic? I'm not sure I would consider myself s shopoholic because I usually don't end up buying a lot of stuff (mostly due to the fact that I still don't have a debit card therefore inhibiting me from shopping online) If I could shop online however.... That's when the trouble would start.

2. How would you classify your style? Sometimes I dress fairly preppy, but other times I dress more classic/ comfortable. I like to stick to things that won't really go out of style, or things that I can style in a trendy way one day, and then wear again in 2 years.

3. What store can you not leave without buying at least one thing? Either Bath and Body Works, or Old Navy. I'm ADDICTED to Old Navy. I've recently come to the realization that over half of my closet is from there, so whoops. Sorry I'm not sorry.

4. Where do you find the best deals? I really only buy stuff at BBW if it's on sale, but I also manage to find good deals at Ulta.

5. What designer are you willing to splurge for? Jack Rogers for sure, Lilly Pulitzer, although I prefer to buy this dicounted (Ruelala, Re-Lilly, etc.)

6. Do you have a "go to" shopping outfit? I don't think so :/

7. What is your guilty pleasure? (Aside from make up) Shoes. I've discovered this recently. I LOVE shoes. I also happen to only like expensive shoes, so whoops.

8. What is one staple clothing piece you cannot live without? I would not be able to live without scarves, or boots. Like I'm really not sure how I would function without those...

9. What is a trend you hope never goes out of style? I hope scarves never go out of style, because I have far too many.

10. What trend did you love that passed way to quickly? I can't really think of any. Maybe colored jeans? those are still pretty much in though, so I really have no idea. :/

11. Who is your fashion icon? Lauren Conrad (obviously), Sarahbelle93x, Katie Krysh, Blair Waldorf, KLP, etc.

Thanks for reading!

Friday Favorites!

Friday Favorites!

Friday Favorites 7-6-13

Friday Favorites by jda914 featuring a ray ban case

Here are some of the things I've been loving recently!
{Clockwise starting in the top left corner}

-Koozies: I've recently been LOVING koozies and have quite the koozie wishlist, weird, I know. I have a few promotional koozies from my dad, but I'm hoping to collect more this summer!

-M83: Ya'll, I love this band. Their music is great to listen to while your surfing the web because it's just kind of cool electro-pop 80's-esque music. You might recognize their big hit: Midnight City!

-Pearl Earrings: They go with everything!

-Cat-Eye Sunnies: I just got a pair of Tortoise shell ones at Francesca's and I'm in love. They totally remind me of SarahBelle93x. I wanted the Ray-Ban Cats, but once I saw these, I forgot all about the Ray-Bans. I've also raved about my periwinkle pair of cat-eye glasses from Old Navy about a bajillion times ;)

-Light/ Carolina Blue: My Current Computer and Twitter background feature this gorgeous color, and I have a few clothing items in it as well. It's such a pretty color for summer, and something different than neon's and coral.

-Muse: Another Great band! Some of my favorites songs are: SuperMassive Black Hole, Madness, and Uprising!

-Capri Seaside Citrus Lotion: This lotion from Bath and Body works is a great summertime or even year round lotion. It's a light scent that you can throw on before you leave for the day, but it won't compete with your perfume! Love it!

-Napa Valley Jack Rogers: I got these bad boys in the beginning of June, and I've hardly taken them off since! They're pricey, but for good reason, they're genuine leather and perfect for dressing up or down an outfit!

-Vera Bradley Euro Wallet: I'm not going to lie, I just got this wallet in Paisley and Plain (my faves) about a week ago, but I already know it's going to be my fave! I love the tri-fold design, but also how it's compact! perfect for me!

-Neon Short: Specifically my neon pink ones from Old Navy. I featured them in an OOTD post a few weeks back, and I love styling them with different pieces every time I wear them!

-Coke; I went 6 months without drinking pop/soda this school year, but with this Coca-Cola addiction rapidly progressing, I can obviously see that that won't be an option this year. If I get a parking spot and start driving to school, I wouldn't be surprised if I show up to first period with a MickeyD's coke in my hand. (Of course clad in an adorable koozie!)

I hope ya'll enjoyed! What are your favorites this week? Tell me on Twitter or Tumblr!
Have great Weekend! See you Sunday!

Summer Reads!

Hey guys!
As promised, here are some books I've read or am reading that I think are just fantastic for the summer! If you have a Kindle (or other e-reader), I would highly recommend getting these books on it. It's much easier to transport, an if you're board and don't have your book with you, you can always read it on the Kindle app on your phone!
Jane Eyre- Charlotte Bronte: I read this book in school this year and actually liked it! Surprising, I know. It's a great slightly romantic story. If you like classic fiction romance novels, I think you'll like this!

Decision Points- George W. Bush: I started reading this book last year and really liked it, but I had checked it our of my towns virtual library on my Kindle and it automatically returns after a certain amount of time, so I never got to finish it. I'm hoping to in the next few weeks though! It's a great read and gives you a lot of insight in his presidency and life before that!

Harry Potter and the ....- J.K. Rowling:  You seriously can't go wrong with these books, I mean really! Plus, you can't really run out of reading material, you have thousands of pages of material!

The Hunger Games- Suzanne Collins:  Once again a classic trendy read. I think the whole series is a quick read. It's perfect for the sci-fi or fantasy reader!

The Healing of America- T.R. Reid: Okay, you may be thinking, Jordan? You want me to read a book about Global health care at the pool. You Cray. I know, I thought that too when I saw it was assigned reading for me last summer, but I actually found it extremely through provoking and intriguing. The writing is very interesting and draws you in. It also helps to broaden your political horizon.

Twilight- Stephanie Meyer:  I have to admit, I really love the whole twilight series. I never get tired of reading the books over and over again. If you've never read them, try it! You mind find that you enjoy them!

What are you reading pool-side this summer? Comment down below, I'd love to know! (Didja see that rhyme there?)

Beach and Pool Essentials!

Hey Guys!
Today's post is going to be all about what I bring with me to the beach and pool!
Living on the North Shore of Chicago is the best of both worlds *Cue Hannah Montana theme song.* We get all four seasons, and we have GORGEOUS beaches on Lake Michigan! I'm not too much of a an outdoors person, but I don't mind the occasional trip to the beach or pool. Here are my essentials for the Water!

-Beach Bag: My favorite is my cheatah print Long Champ-esque bag.  I got it as a gift, so I'm not sure where you can get one, but I know you can get similar monogrammed ones on MarleyLilly.com These are the perfect bags because it's difficult for water and sand to get into, and they hold everything you need!

-Sunglasses: My favorite sunglasses are usually cat eye sunglasses. I have a blue pair from Old Navy which, by the way, is a fantastic place to get trendy sunglasses for a good price. I also really like this pair of ray-bans. My dad has the same pair in black and I LOVE them! Also, a croaky is never a bad idea, you get get these at practically any online preppy retailer.

-Beach Towel: My beach towels usually come from target. I have an ADORABLE one that's lime green with light pink and Hot pink flamingos. It's actually too cute. ;)

-Music: My favorite type of music to listen to at the beach or pool is definitely country music. It puts me in the perfect mood. My favorite is the Luke Bryan Spring Break: Here to Party CD. I highly recommend it!

-Bathing Suits: Okay, this is an obvious one haha. My two favorite bathing suits are actually from the kids section at Old Navy. :/ The chevron one I'm wearing in the photo to the right I got this year and should still be available, and   the one I'm wearing in the picture to the left is from the kids section last year. I find that they're bikini bathing suits fit me just fine from there, and I think they're a great option for us flat chested girls out there. ;)

-Cover Up: My cover up this year I got a J.Crew factory last year. It's a white and blue semi sheer tribal/ikat  pattern. I like that it's a little sheer because it lets a little bit of the color of my bathing suit show through.

-Sunscreen: I always use at least spf 30. That's all you need too to protect your skin from the awful UV rays. I don't Tan either, so It's not like I'm preventing my self from getting any color anyway.

-Baseball Cap/ Sunhat: I have a baseball cap that I stole from my dad that's just red and has a Car tour logo on the front, and I also have a baby pink hat with the Blackhawks logo embroidered on the front which I love! You can get really adorable baseball hats from pretty much any preppy clothing company such as Vineyard Vines, Southern Proper, or Southern Coast. If you're going for the sunhat approach, They make adorable monogrammed ones at MarleyLilly.com.

-Shoes: For the beach or pool, I don't take my Jack Rogers, just because they're pretty pricey, and wouldn't want to risk losing them or drenching them, so I just wear plain jane flippy floppies. I just got a white pair from old navy that look great on in the summer against my (semi) tan feet. You can get these for super cheap at any old navy, and you can even get flip flops at Walgreen's and my grocery store.

-Reading Material: I love books, and the one currently in my beach bag is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Which I'm almost done with. (No this isn't the first time I've read it) I'm planning on doing a post all about summer reads, so look for that in the next few days!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Tell me, what's in your beach bag?! Comment down below!

Current Playlists!

'Sup party People?!
Today I thought I wold share with you my current playlist that I've been listening to on Spotify, A.K.A. the best invention since sliced bread.

As you can see, I've been listening to more "cool" music, or at least, that's what I call it, recently. a lot of Imagine Dragons, Muse, and M83. :) Also, a lot fo these songs are from the LOL movie soundtrack!

Don't worry though, I'm still loving my country music too :)
This is my country music playlist as you can tell, I quite enjoy Luke Bryan's luscious voice as well as Blake Shelton.

What music have you guys been listening to this summer?!

My Netflix Recommendations!

Hey Ya'll!
I hope you guys had a fantastic Fourth of July, I sure did!

Since it's summer, I thought this would be a good post to do since us students have more free time! Also, If you're anything like me, you're nocturnal and refuse to sleep at night and prefer to do so during the hot hours of mid-day. ;)

Here are some of my favorite shows and movies that I watch/ have watched on Netflix!

The Vampire Diaries
One of my favorite Things to watch and re-watch and re-re-watch on Netflix are episodes of The Vampire Diaries.
If you like dramatic T.V. or shows with hot guys, I would highly recommend TVD. The first 3 seasons are on Netflix. Season 4 just finished airing on the CW, but they are re-running the episodes now.

Gossip Girl
I LOVE Gossip Girl. It's an addiction, I know. I've been watching since halfway through season 5, and have watched season 6. I started watching from season one this year, and am now a few episodes into season 4, so I'm almost caught up! I read some of the books when I was younger, and would highly recommend this show to anyone interested in fashion or wanting to get in touch with their inner diva!

Keeping Up with the Kardashians
I just started watching this on Netflix recently although I've seen the last few recent seasons before. Can I just tell you, the first few episodes of this show are HILARIOUS. If you need a laugh, watch season 1.

This is a cute Chick Flick staring Miley Cyrus, so if you want a girls night movie, I would suggest this one, although I would only recommend to slightly older audiences, 15+ probably.

Say Yes To the Dress- Atlanta
I LOVE this show, I really liked the NYC show when I was a little younger, but once TLC came out with the Atlanta version, I fell in love. It's hilarious, and being the inner southern belle that I am ;) I really love the dresses they showcase.

(Jon and) Kate plus 8
I've been watching this show since I was 11. It's so heartwarming, not to mention, the kids are ADORABLE.

Pretty Little Liars
I haven't caught up on the recent episodes, but I do love the show!

The Avengers
Fantastic movie, need I say more?

Captain America
One of my fav superheros. :)

The Hunger Games
Can you wait for Catching fire to come out? Because I sure can't!

Drop Dead Diva
I just now noticed this was on Netflix, and I remember watching the first season of it. It's a cute girly show that adds in a little Drama.

What are your favorite shows and movies to watch on Netflix?

The Anti-Boyfriend Tag

This is a thing, so I'm gonna do it.

1. What is the one (most important) quality you look for in guys? They have to have a good sense of humor.

2. What quality is a turn off? Not having a good sense of humor, or, I guess this is kind of obvious, but if they talk sh*t about my friends.

3. What physical feature do you notice on the opposite sex first? This is kind of weird, but I'm pretty sure I notice their general bone-structure in their face first. Weird, I know.

4. Describe your dream date. Well, I've never been on a date before, go ahead, make fun of me, but prebbaly out to lunch at a restaurant  but not like a really nice restaurant  just like Portillo's or Steak and Shake or somthing and then a movie we'd both been wanting to see. #cheapdate Also, I'm not a girl who will order like a salad or "dainty" food on a date. I eat a cheeseburger practically everyday at lunch so I have no boundaries where that's concerned.

5. Who would your celebrity boyfriend be? Chace Crawford, hands down. His character on Gossip Girl or What to Expect When You're Expecting: Perfection. I'm also partial to Ian Somerhalder, Tom Cruise, Paul Wesley, and Ed Westwick.

6. What is your relationship 'deal breaker?' (Something that you might end a relationship because of) Not sure, obviously not much experience in this topic, but probably someone who can't respect my boundaries.

7. What is your relationship 'deal maker?' (Something you would like a guy to do in a relationship) Obviously someone who can respect my boundaries  and someone who isn't clingy, because I'm not exactly a people person.

8. What eye and hair color do you prefer? This is weird, but I always like celebrities who are kind of pale with dark hair and light eyes **cough cough** Ian Somerhalder, but in real life, I tend to go for blondes.

9. He buys you a gift. What would it be? If it's something small, probably nail polish or a scarf, because we all know I'm addicted to both of those and you can never have enough right? But if it's like a big present, shoes. I really love shoes.

10. Would you say you have a type? If so, what is your type?  I have a slight issue, because I tend to fall for Lax bros (guys who play lacrosse, and are not typically great people) and golfers. On tumblr, I reblog a lot of Frat guys too, it's a problem.

So, If I've described you in any of these, just remember, I'm single ;)
The fact that I actually did this doe #ForeverAlone
*Shakes head and walks away from computer*
