Halloween Costume Idea 3: Barbie!

Hey guys!

For todays halloween costume, I thought explain what I was for halloween last year! Last year, I wanted to be alice and wonderland characters with my cousins, but that fell through, so I decided to be a Barbie! It was super fun and easy! Here's what you need:

-fun colored capris pants (I wore pink obvi) or a fun color bodycon skirt (not my style, but would go nicely with the look)
- A flowy or excessively sparkly top.
-High heels if you're really daring.
-big sunglasses
-Flashy Purse

For Makeup and Hair:

I love Elle Fowlers tutorial fro this look! Go super bright and pastel on the eyes, use false lashes if you have them. Make sure to use a bright pink lipstick, and overdo the blush a little. Loosely curl your hair and put them in pigtails. Secure each pigtail with ribbon.  Don't be afraid to use a little glitter!

Tip Tuesday: Seal your shoes!

Hey guys!

For Today's tip tuesday is going to be a bout how you can keep your boots and shoes lasting longer.
I think we all have a pair of suede shoes whether they're flats, boots, booties or uggs. We also probably all knwo how awful it is when you stain them or get them wet. They Way I counteract this is by using scotch guard on them. I think I got mie at like walmart, but basically you just spray your shoes with it (it can also be used on couches, chairs etc.) and it keeps them water and stain resistant! When I spray my uggs, I use the Ugg Australia Stain repeller or  whatever it's called, but for all my other shoes, I just use scotch guard!

I hope you guys found this post helpful! talk to ya'll next time!

Embarrassing Story: Washington D.C.

Okay, apparently all of my embarrassing stories happen when I'm on  vacation, but here's my first story I'm gonna share with ya'll:

Me infront of the Washington Monument (sort of)

At my middle school, in 8th grade you have the option of going to washington D.C. witha group of students and teacher for 3 nights and 4 days. I'm very thankful that I had the opportunity to go and that my parents allowed me to. Anyways, I'll cut to the chase. I shared a hotel room with my friends Anna and Marissa. On Saturday night Marissa fel asleep on the bed, so Anna and I stayed up and Watched Valentine's day (one of our favorite movies). We didn't go to sleep until probably 1 D.C. time, but that felt like only midnight to us. Waking up was a different story. In the mornings the teachers come and knock on your doors to wake you up as well as the wake up call from the hotel. The first day our wakeup call came a few minutes after the teacher knocked on our door. I for some reason was given the job of answering the door and waking everyone up in the morning. BAD IDEA! I am the worst waker uper ever. I answered the door sunday morning either sleep walking or barely conscious and then, thinking the wakeup call would come in 2-3 minuets, fell back asleep. Well, the wake-up call never came. At around 8:15 am My phone started ringing because my friend was calling from the bus asking where we were, and then the teacher came banging on the door. We all woke up and realized we were over an hour late! We were going to Mt. Vernon (George Washington's house) that morning, and we made our bus miss out on a buss tour of the ton on our way there. I don't hink our bus noticed though because it wasn't really the most intellectual group. That night the teachers came to our room and made a plan with us to make sure we didn't oversleep the next day (talk about embarrassing ) Luckily we didn't, but boy, was that embarrassing :(

Tip Tuesday: Dry Shampoo

Howdy ya'll :)

Today I thought I would do a blog post about one of my most favoritest inventions ever; dry shampoo.
The dry shampoo that I use is the suave one (pictured below). It's only $2-4 at the drugstore; I get mine at walgreens. I suggest using this when your hair is a little greasy and maybe you don't have time to shower, or if you want some extra volume in your hair. I just spray it in my hair from about 5-6 inches away, and work it in with my fingertips. ps it comes out clear, so don't worry if you have dark hair, it works just fine on me!

Lot's of other brands make dry shampoos such as bed head, and tresseme, but the suave one is the only one I've tried and I love it. If you don't have dry shampoo on hand and you have lighter hair, you can use small amounts of baby powder so soak up the excess oil.

My favorite smoothie

Hi Guys!

Okay, by no means am I a health buff. Actually, I'm the opposite. I eat soooo much junkfood, it's pretty terrible. But Today I thought I would share with you my favorite smoothie recipe!

I don't have a blender, but I do have a magic bullet, which is a less expensive alternative if you want.

Here's what you need:

strawberries (I use frozen)
Pineapple Chunks (once again, I use frozen)
orange juice or fruit punch; whatever you have on hand.
vanilla ice cream or ice (if you use Ice, I would suggest adding a splash of milk as well)

You thrown that all in a blender and blend until it's completely combined and pulverized. I really like this smoothie because it's sweet and doesn't have any banana ( I always sing the gwen stefani song when I spell that;) I really don't like it when I can taste banana in my smoothie, so this ones perfect! :)

My Favorite Pick-Me-Up

Okay, we all have those days where we just can't function. Your head hurts, you don't want to stand up, you don't want to do your work; you'd much rather sleep or read blogs for the next 12 hours.

Here's what I do when I feel like this:

Drink an entire glass of really cold water
This wakes up, and you'll feel more revived as well.

Do a face mask
This parts optional, but this can really make you feel refreshed and clean as well.

Get out a spoon, fill it with Nutella, and eat it.
Nutella, probably the best invention in the world, gives me that perfect chocolate fix, without actually eating a 3 musketeers or something. I actually had 3 or 4 spoon-fulls yesterday, I was feeling extremely stressed :P
