My Favorite Animal!

Hey Guys!
Today I though I would do a post about my favorite Animal: Reindeer!
This obsession started not to long ago when I saw Sarahbelle93x and Meghanrosette's Moose pillow pets. They were so cute! But there was still a part of me that didn't like moose, and then it hit me. Reindeer! They're similar to moose, but they're a lot cuter, plus they help deliver santa's presents, which automaticaly gives them bonus points.
I really want a reindeer pillow pet, but they're like $60 on ebay :( So maybe I'll have to get a moose one and sew a red patch on it's nose. I'm aware that all reindeer don't have red noses like Rudolph, but still.

Also some people don't think that reindeer are real, but they are, because they have them at my zoo year round, and I always like to go see them :)

My Top 4 Summer Nail Polishes

Hey Guys!
So Today I was trying to think of Blog posts that I could do, because I've kind of been slacking on them recently. But don't worry, I have a few planned for the next week!
This post is going to be covering my top 4 summer nail polishes. I love nail polish! So It was a little tricky for me to narrow it down to only four for the summertime, but here you go.

In no particular order........

1. Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear Nail Color in 'Pacific Blue' $2.99
This Nail Polish is the perfect summer color. It's bright hue leaves your nails looking super summery and ready to dig in the sand at the beach, or hit up all of the summer sales! Although I find this color settles quite oddly in the bottle, it shows up and almost neon royal blue on your nails. I was late on the bandwagon and only purchased this earlier this month, but I'm certainly glad I did. :)

2. OPI 'A Oui Bit of Red' $8.50
This color is the perfect summer and spring red! I purchased this color at Ulta on a whim about a month ago from the clearance section, but boy do I love this color! This color is such a true red with neither to orange or to cool of undertones. It's also quite unique because it has a slight pink duo chrome which you can see in this picture. I think that this small detail sets it apart from some more boring red polishes. I'm pretty sure this is a limited edition polish, but you can probably find it online somewhere if you look.

3. OPI 'Just Spotted the Lizard' $8.50
This color is from the Amazing SpiderMan collection that released this summer. I bought the 4 pack from Ulta, but I regret not getting this shade in the full-size. This color is so gorgeous and looks great in the summer sun. The light could catch it looking green, or sometimes a dazzling turquoise. A must have on my list :)

4. Essie 'Bikini so Teeny
I love this color. I first saw the new Essie collection advertised in Seventeen a few months back, and I thought "Jordan, You need this nail polish." so when I was at Walgreens in Early June, I bought it. I'm glad I did too, because it's sold out pretty mush every where now! I love this cross between baby blue and periwinkle. So pretty and I do believe that It makes your skin look tanner!

I hope that ya'll enjoyed this post! I also just made a FAQ page on my blog that includes frequently asked questions, and all of my official links! Go check it out! http://buttercupbeauty71.blogspot.com/p/faq.html

15 Weird Facts Tag

Hey Girlies!
I did this tag on my youtube channel last summer, but I decided I wanted to do it again this year, because some of my answers have changed.

Questions
#1. What's a nickname only your family calls you?

Buttercup, that's what my dad calls me, and when I was little my cousin who's the same age as me called me Jabba because he couldn't say Jordan.

#2. What's a weird habit of yours?

ummmm, that's a tricky one. I don't know? ** I thought of one! It's not that weird, but when I'm stress or nervous, I start scratching my forearms. Sometimes, if it's been a really hard week, I end up with little red bumps on my forearms :P I'm trying to stop though**

#3. Do you have any weird phobias?

My biggest fear is isolation. It scares me to be alone in the middle of nowhere. If im alone in my house that okay, my to be in the middle of the woods, or a lake. That's scary.

#4. What's a song you secretly LOVE to blast & belt out when you're alone?

"Low" by Flo Rida. This is me my mom, and my brother's jam. This is pretty much stuck in my head constantly :)

When people don't make eye-contact. when people walk slowly in the hallway. When you're at a fair and people zig-zag or stop in the middle of the street.

#6. What's one of your nervous habits?

tapping my fingers/nails on the table

#7. What side of the bed do you sleep on?

I have a twin bed, so the middle?

#8. What was your first stuffed animal & it's name?

My first stuffed animal was a stuffed cow, I never named it. But my favorite stuffed animal as a child was lamby. (she's a lamb in case you didn't gather that from her name)

#9. What's the drink you ALWAYS order at starbucks?

Either a non-fat Carmel Macciato iced or hot depending on the weather.  or a pumpkin spice latte.

#10. What's the beauty rule you preach.. but never ACTUALLY practice?

Use heat protectant. :/

#11. Which way do you face in the shower?

Away from the shower head. I've always done that. I don't see how you could shower facing it! I think the actual direction I face is south?

#12. Do you have any 'weird' body 'skills'?

I can flip my tongue over both ways so the the bottom is touching the roof of my mouth. and I can twist my thumb to a 90˚ angle onto the back of my hand.

#13. What's your favorite 'comfort food'/food thats 'bad' but you love to eat it anyways?

Where should I start? Mac and Cheese. Frozen Yogurt. Pringles. french fries. french toast. cupcakes. etc.

That's just how the cookie crumbles. Whatever floats your boat. Sucks to suck. Sorry I'm not sorry. Buttface. Poopsicles.

#15. Time to sleep- what are you ACTUALLY wearing?

Usually women boxer shorts from Gap Kids and a tank top or a t-shirt. In the winter I wear sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt.

Nyx Rogue Cream Blush Review!

**All Pictures in this post were taken by me**

Hey Guys!

Today I thought I would do a review post on a blush that I love!
The NYX Rogue Cream Blush. Mine is in Rose Petal

To start out, I'll rate it the same way Temptalia does.

Product- 9/10
Pigmentation- 10/10
Texture- 9/10
Longevity- 8/10
Application- 5/5
Packaging- 5/5

OverAll: A-

Now I'll go into an explanation for each score!

Product- Overall, this product is great, It's the perfect blush for all year round.

Pigmentation- This blush is soo pigmente, which is awesome, but it also blends out well, which is important for blush.

Blended out

Texture- The texture, over all, is great! I do have one little complaint though. It's slightly sticky, although it doesn't effect the application, it does make for messy fingers.

Longevity- This blush stays on for I would say 5 hours, and then it starts to wear a little, which is a bit unfortunate when you're going to wear it for school. That being said, I like to set it with a powder blush when I use. Typically a different one everyday, depending on my mood.

Application- The application is really nice. This blush blends incredibly well and looks nice in all seasons.

Packaging- The packing is sleek and clean. It look exactly like mac packaging, and works fine for the product. Not reallly a big factor to the product, but it's packed nicely regardless.

Extra Notes:

I apply This blush with my fingers, i've also seen people use an angled kabuki from sigma, or a stippling brush.
They have a lot more colors that I'm really eager to try too!

Quick TIp!

Hey guys!

A couple of days ago it was super dooper hot outside, but I wanted to wear my fresh sugar rose lip treatment. As many of you have probably discovered, these are really messy/melty. My fix to prevent the melting was to put it in the freezer!

I took it out of the freezer after probably 1 or 2 hours, and putting it on after that was extremely refreshing! I think that this is a little but kind of funny thing to share with you guys!

My Most Reached For Products

Hey Guys!
While doing my 8 most worn things tag post, I decided that this would also be a good post to do, because this tag relates more to makeup rather than all of the different side of beauty. So for this post, I’m going to name a category and then go into my most reached for product from each category. Enjoy!

  1. Most Reached For Liquid Face Product: I would have to say that this is my Almay Clear Complexion Makeup (Ivory 120) This is my everyday foundation. I love the finish that it gives me, and the coverage. It’s not overly sheer or full; perfect for everyday. It also claims to “clear your complexion” obviously no foundation is going to do that, but it does help my skin stay matte throughout the day, and it doesn’t spark any new breakouts for me which is always good!
  2. Most Reached For Powder Face Product: This is a tricky one. Up until last week I was using my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, but last week I started using my Covergirl loose powder. At this point though, I would probably say that I like my Maybelline Dream Matte better though. Its such a nice powder. Perfect for soaking up excess oil throughout the day. But you never know, my opinion might change.
  3. Most Reached for Blush: My Most Reached for blush would have to be my NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Rose Petal (cb01) It’s a rosy neutral that when applied, dries matte. I use my fingers to apply it, but when I finally invest in a sigma kit, I see myself using a stippling blush for a more airbrushed look. This gorgeous hue is the perfect neutral for any seasons, and I’ve found myself reaching for it a ton in the last few weeks, and I definitely see myself reaching for it a lot in the coming months as well.
  1. Most Reached For Eye Primer: Although earlier this year I may have said my MAC Paintpot, I find myself reaching for my Urban Decay Primer Potion a lot more. (Mine came with my UD Naked Pallette) This stuff glues my eye shadow to my lids, which is AWESOME. This is imperative to me because of my overly oily eyelids.
  1. Most Reached for Eye shadow Palette: My Urban Decay Naked Palette. End of story. This palette is perfect for everyday, and it is most definitely my most reached for. Look for a post in the future going into this palette more. (It could also include swatches)
  1. Most Reached for Eyeliner: This would have to be my Maybelline Eyestudio Gel eyeliner in blackest black. I love this stuff. I use it with the brush they include. You can get such a precise line, or a really bold cat eye if you want too! So awesome. I definitely reach for it the most.
  1. Most Reached For Mascara: One of the Maybelline Great Lashes. Currently I’ve been using the lots of lashes formula, but I love the original formula as well. It makes your lashes look naturally great. That’s what I like about it. It doesn’t make you’re lashes look fake. I don’t want my lashes to look like that everyday. I prefer for them to look nice and naturally great! Sometimes I layer them too, and they’re both exceptional for your lower lashes J
  1. Most Reached for Lipstick: Okay, It’s technically not a lipstick, but a lipbutter. I use my Revlon Lipbutter in Peach Parfait  a lot. It’s my go to lipstick like product. I have different tastes in the fall, but if I want something quick and easy, I use this.
  1. Most Reached for Lipgloss: This would definitely be my Ulta Lip gloss in Mischief. It’s a purple brownish red very similar to MAC’s Viva Glam V. (Which I love layering it on top of) I wear this a lot in the fall especially, but I would have to say it’s my most reached for lip gloss. I also love it because it’s not sticky at all as opposed to some other lip glosses. Mine is on a double ended lip gloss, and I really like the color on the other end as well (Princess) I use this one a lot more in the summer considering it’s a much lighter color.
  1. Most Reached For Lip Balm: Maybelline Babylips all the way. I tend to wear these even more that my lipsticks sometimes as well. I talked about these a load in my 8 most worn things post.  Like I said I have Pink Punch and Cherry Me. I’ve worn Pink Punch Almost everyday this summer. It tints my lips the perfect bubblegum pink while protecting them from spf and keeping them moisturized. What would be better?!?

I hope you guys enjoyed this excessively long post ;) Feel free to comment down below and tell me your most worn products! See you guys next time!

How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

Hey Guys!

So Today I thought I would do a post on how I clean my makeup brushes. I Deep Clean my makeup brushes once every 2-4 weeks. Now I know that you’re supposed t clean your brushes a lot more than that, but I find that this works just fine for me. Although Sometimes I do find myself washing foundation and concealer brushes more often as needed.
I don’t spot clean my brushes, this is due to the fact that I don’t own brush cleanser. Eventually though, I do plan on purchasing the mac brush cleanser.
I just washed my brushes tonight, and I thought that this would be a very informative blog post to do! J The method that I use to clean my brushes is one that I picked up from a Juicystar07 video a while back. It cleans my brushes really nicely, and it’s also super easy to do!

What you need:
  • Dish Sponge
  • Baby Shampoo (I use the generic Walgreen’s kind, but it always come in a big yellow bottle. Johnson’s Works great!)
  • Dirty Brushes
  • Warm Running Water
  • Towel/ Flat Surface

What you do:
  1. Get your sink running warm water.
  2. Wet your sponge and put a quarter (eye shadow pan) sized amount of baby shampoo in the sponge.
  3. Rub the shampoo in with your finger.
  4. Take the brush you’re cleaning and run the hairs under the water. Be careful not the get the barrel of the brush too wet if the brush is wooden.
  5. After your brush is wet, rub it on your soapy sponge. If the brush is flat (ex. foundation, concealer, flat shader) rub the bristles in up and down motions. If the brush is round (ex. blush, power, blending) rub the brush in circular motions.
  6. Periodically rinse the soap out of the brush and squeeze the water out. Once the water runs pretty clear, your brush is clean!
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for each brush.

TaDAA!!! Now all of your brushes are clean!
